I host the Jam. My name is Doug Banwell. I'm a jazz woodwind player.

I've recently moved to Huntsville after many years on the scene in Toronto as a sideman. I played in everything from duos to big bands. To see my relentless and shamelessly self-promotional website, click here.

Huntsville has a vibrant music community, but it needs a venue in which to hang.

I'm trying to establish a "constructive" jam. Not the old fashioned "cutting session", but more a relaxed community of jazz players. Someplace where a beginning player can come to get gentle guidance. A place where everyone is welcome to contribute as either a player or a listener.
